Cantù (Como): 4 D.AC.UR. measures for an eighteen-year-old and three minors responsible for a violent attack that occurred in the center

The State Police following a careful analysis of the positions of the subjects involved in the clashes broke out on the night of June 2nd in Piazza Garibaldi in Cantù and immediately subjected to judicial police arrest by the Cantù Carabinieri, issued 4 D.AC.UR. measures – ban on access to urban areas – against those responsible, signed by the Como Police Chief.

The investigations following the serious bloodbath, which led to the identification of 4 young second-generation Italian citizens, residents of Cantù, among the alleged perpetrators, allowed the police officers of the Anti-Crime Police Division of the Como Police Headquarters to collect all the details regarding the manner in which the incident unfolded, evaluating all the components of social dangerousness of the four subjects and finally to submit a detailed report to the Como Police Chief Marco Calì which allowed him to issue:

• 3 year ban extended to the entire province for the 18 year old, that at the end of the ban period he will also be required to report to the Judicial Police;
• 3 years of ban also for the 17 year old, while 2 years of the same ban for the 16 year old and 15 year old, who will not be able to access a large area surrounding the center of Cantù.

Similar criminal episodes had recently occurred, including attacks and damages often later traced back to the violent actions of the same group of young people, with a strong juvenile connotation, whose consolidation in the area was facilitated by the town's increased aggregative vocation. The members of the association, making use of the strength deriving from their large number, often for trivial reasons, they were responsible for violent actions, in some cases which have gone viral via social networks. It is precisely these episodes that are being examined by the specialists of the Anti-Crime Division for the evaluation of further measures against other young members of the group.

In the coming weeks, as agreed in a recent technical coordination meeting held in the Prefecture, extraordinary territorial control services will be organised in the Canturino area, which will involve specialized operators from the State Police, the Carabinieri and the Financial Police.
