La Como State Police, in the afternoon of 12 February, arrested for attempted robbery, resistance and violence against a public official, 28 year old from Milan with criminal and police records for property crimes, Public Administration, the Person and the Law on Weapons.
The man was also reported at large for aggravated damage, invasion of buildings, refusal to provide one's personal details to the authorities and finally contempt of a public official, aggravated for having done so in a public place and in the presence of several people.
Around 16.00pm 12 February, a patrol car was quickly directed to Via Valleggio to the headquarters of the University Centre, where a mens that, after having attempted to rob an employee, had given in outburst by screaming and damaging objects present in a warehouse.
The two patrol officers who intervened, informed in the meantime by the Police Headquarters Operations Centre of all the information of the case and the descriptions of the person in charge – with great determination and resoluteness – they immediately the criminal was identified and stopped, in the moments when, after having threw a printing plotter down the stairs emergency of the building, it was quickly moving away.
While the 28enne was brought in Police Headquarters after a few minutes of tension due to the refusal to identify himself and his outrageous and violent reaction towards the police, a second patrol car collected the evidence outlining the man's conduct and what had happened and the complaint of the head of the university center.
The 28-year-old had shown up inside a reserved space and with a trivial excuse, had then threatened an employee by boasting of having a gun with him if he hadn't given him any money.
Given the employee refusal to hand over money, the 28-year-old has started to give in outburst threatening him heavily e getting hold of an expensive printer – worth approximately 5.000 euros – reaching the emergency stairs and forcefully throwing her down them, damaging it.
Meanwhile, at the police station, the officers have collected all the information on the 28-year-old, his criminal and police records for a range of crimes ranging from from theft, to robbery, against the person and the Public Administration.
The investigations also revealed a complaint filed by a rehabilitation community in Bergamo, which reported thevoluntary departure of man.
During his stay at the Police Headquarters, his violence did not calm down, continuing in his offensive and uncooperative intent, which led him to theArrest for attempted robbery and for resisting and using violence against a public official and to the complaint at large for aggravated damage, invasion of buildings, refusal to provide personal details to the authorities and finally contempt of a public official, aggravated for having done so in a public place and in the presence of several people.
Having been informed of the activities carried out, the PM on duty ordered the 28-year-old to be held in prison. Police Headquarters, awaiting the trial set for 11.30 this morning.
