Como: accomplices in theft of blind elderly man, two very young girls in trouble
The Como State Police arrested for complicity in theft, aggravated by the victim's impaired defense, a 19-year-old from Pavia with a criminal record, simultaneously reporting at large a 17-year-old from Como, of Tunisian origins, resident in the Breccia neighborhood and with numerous criminal records for property and personal crimes.
The story began in the early hours of Friday, when a patrol car was sent to the home of an 82-year-old man of Neapolitan origins, resident in the Breccia neighborhood and disabled because he is blind. The person who asked for the police's intervention was the man himself who orally reported to the officers a theft that had taken place in his house during the night - cash worth approximately 500 euros, a gold ring and medal and the bunch of house keys - objects that he kept in his bedroom.
The police thus collected the man's detailed testimony summarizing the entire story, deducing that from his story the man directed his suspicions towards his 17-year-old neighbor and her 19-year-old friend.
From what has been reconstructed, the two young girls - the 19-year-old lives in Pavia while the 17-year-old lives with her parents in the apartment opposite the 82-year-old - on Thursday, allegedly asked and obtained from the man both money to buy pizzas and the possibility of hosting the 19-year-old from Pavia for the night who, given the time, was unable to return to her city. And it was during the night that the man said he heard strange noises coming from his bedroom, discovering only the following morning that money was missing from his trouser pockets and some gold objects that he had kept on the bedside table. Certain that the theft had been committed by his young guest, he confronted her, asking for explanations on what had happened and for information on the missing items, ordering her to call the police. In response, the 19-year-old took the door and left the house.
The police thus collected crucial elements to immediately identify the two girls, tracking down the 17-year-old in her home and the 19-year-old on a bus to Como and headed to the station, both of whom were accompanied to the police station.
From the search carried out in the 19-year-old's bag, the police found cash amounting to 210 euros, a gold medal and a bunch of keys, objects considered perfectly attributable to the property of the robbed elderly man. From the search at the 17-year-old's home, a sum of cash equal to 300 euros and a gold ring were found, objects considered corpus delicti.
Once the complaint was received from the victim, the entire affair was unravelled and responsibilities were attributed, the 19-year-old was arrested and, by order of the Public Prosecutor on duty, held in the security cells awaiting the summary trial set for today at 11.00:17, while the XNUMX-year-old was reported at liberty to the Public Prosecutor's Office at the Juvenile Court of Milano.
Both will have to answer for theft, aggravated by the victim's impaired defense as he is disabled.
