Como, 41-year-old arrested for being an active part in a criminal organization
The State Police of Como, has arrested, on the basis of a precautionary measure in prison issued by the GIP of Milano, a 41-year-old Turkish citizen residing in Switzerland.
The man was found to be one of the suspects in the vast anti-mafia operation conducted by the Como Flying Squad and the SISCO of Milano, where the precautionary measure had been defined at the end of a complex investigation activity and which saw the 41-year-old Turk as an active part of a transnational criminal organization with cells located in the major European countries, in Türkiye as well as in the Balkan area.
The criminal organization was dedicated to drug trafficking, aiding illegal immigration and money laundering, the proceeds of which were used to finance an armed gang aimed at forming an association with terrorist purposes and committing murders.
Once the arrest warrant was issued, the man was tracked down in Switzerland by the Swiss authorities and captured and extradited to Italy, where he was taken into custody by the Border Police of Ponte Chiasso who, once the proceedings and notifications were completed, transferred him to the Como prison.
