On the morning of September 30th, Sabrina Pagliarani, a former police officer who died in the line of duty, was remembered. She had been hit by a truck at a customs checkpoint.

morning in the Lario Ovest service area on the A/9 motorway, in the presence of the Commander of the Como Highway Police Section Antonio Prina and of Busto Arsizio Giorgio Anselmini and of a representation of the two Sections, of a crew from the Como Police Headquarters and of a representation of the National Association of the State Police, it was remembered Sabrina Pagliarani, police officer serving with the Busto Arsizio (VA) Highway Police, dead the 30 September 1994 on the Como Sud motorway junction.
That night a German truck had exceeded the limit by about twenty meters to stop while waiting to get into a queue to carry out the Checks customs and imposed by the Highway Police patrol of which Officer Sabrina Pagliarani was a member.
The latter stopped the driver of the heavy vehicle and asked him for his driving and loading documents.
While Officer Pagliarani was returning with the documents to his patrol car, the truck driver did reverse gear, running over the young policewoman who was walking behind the truck.
