From the investigations carried out on a theft that occurred in Como in January, it was possible to ascertain the existence of a structured, stable criminal association that had been engaged in daily attempts at home burglaries for several months.

La Como State Police, coordinated by Public Prosecutor's Office at the Court of Como, at the conclusion of an investigative activity, carried out a detention order issued by the Prosecutor's Office, against 6 individuals of South American origin irregularly present on the territory of the state, seriously suspected of having committed, in the months of January and February, 10 thefts and attempted thefts in homes in Como, Cantù and in various provinces of Lombardy and Piedmont.
Specifically, the investigative activities of the Flying Squad, originating from investigations carried out in relation to a theft committed in Como last January, have allowed us to ascertain theexistence of a structured, stable and active criminal association for several months who, starting from a house located in Monza, committed and attempted numerous home burglaries every day.
The investigations also allowed us to ascertain a consolidated modus operandi implemented by members of the association.
In fact, they were used to it move, 3 or 4 at a time, in rental cars, changed on a weekly basis to evade investigations against them, making several passes near the previously identified homes, mostly villas or detached houses.
Once target decided 2 or 3 suspects they got out of the vehicle and, after having make sure the owners are absent ringing the bell, They forced doors or windows to enter homes where they took it from valuables, money, designer clothes and perfumes.
In the meantime, the man driving remained on board the car, available for any leaks and acting as an observer.
Furthermore, many of them turned out to be attempts that the gang did not complete because disturbed by the presence of guard dogs, neighbors of the victims and alarm systems.
5 investigated They were stopped on Monday morning 10 February inside an apartment in via Lazio in Monza, while a sixth subject was traced at the “Serravalle Designer Outlet” from Serravalle Scrivia (AL).
At the end of the activity, the detainees were taken to the Monza and Alessandria County Jails where they will remain available to theJudicial authority pending confirmation in court of the investigative evidence collected.
