Como: Countering common crime and drug dealing. “Defensive traps” found in the woods

La Como State Police, on Wednesday and in the territory of Cadorago and immediately surrounding areas, has organised an extraordinary territorial control service, aimed at prevention of predatory crimes and repression of crimes related to drug dealing and possession.

The service, coordinated by an official from the Como Police Headquarters, was carried out with personnel from the Como Flying Squad,Cabinet Office and crews of the Crime Prevention Department of Lombardy Milano.

Some of the patrols carried out numerous road checkpoints, particularly on main access and exit arteries from the inhabited centers of Cadorago, Until Mornasco, Vertemate with Minoprio, Gloves, lomazzo e Veniano and with greater attention to areas subject to phenomena attributable to burglaries and scams against elderly people.

During the service they were 102 people, 1 public establishment and 44 vehicles checked.

Meanwhile the men of the Flying Squad They inspected most of the wooded areas in the area between Fino Mornasco, Cadorago and Lomazzo, in order to ascertain the presence of subjects dedicated to the shop of narcotic substances.

No people were recorded in the area but, during the search, it was a series of bivouacs and posts dismantled, considered to be the logistical basis of drug dealing.

During the inspections, the Mobile detectives discovered a new stratagem put into action by drug dealers; in fact, they documented the presence of “defensive traps” – green iron wires that blend in well with the vegetation – tied from one tree to another at man height, traps in defense of drug stash places, while at the same time ensuring that drug dealers have the opportunity to escape.
