The State Police arrested a homeless young man for robbery, aggravated theft, resisting a public official, and carrying weapons or objects capable of causing offence.

La Como State Police arrested on the morning of Sunday 19 October a 19 year old Tunisian, without a fixed abode in Italy, accused of rapina, also denouncing it in state of liberty for carrying weapons or objects capable of causing offence, aggravated theft and resisting a public official.
At about 7am on Sunday morning, during the daily territorial control service, two police cars, passing by Geno Avenue, they noted a young North African with his face covered in blood chased by a man who he was screaming for help.
The officers immediately stopped the 19-year-old, recognizing him as already known to the police for previous convictions for crimes against property, against the person and in immigration mattersDuring the intervention, the police also recovered a cash register that the young man had lost in the escape.
Shortly after, the 54 year old from Como, owner of a commercial business in the area, reported to the officers that he had Tunisian man caught inside his own premises and he rummaged through and stole the cash of the cash register. The man explained that, once discovered, the thief had threatened with a knife in an attempt to gain escape.
While the operations were taking place, a second restaurateur reported the cash register theft and a briefcase containing tips and cash from their own premises. Immediately afterwards, the manager of a third public establishment of the area reported a similar theft, always happened at night.
Transferred to the police station, the young Tunisian was found irregular on Italian territory and already recipient of a Como Police Chief's order to leave the country, notified to him at the beginning of October. During the search, the officers seized two car keys, five smartphones, necklaces, rings, watches, box cutters, knives e cash in different currencies, among which pounds, Swiss francs, Polish banknotes and over 1000 € cash.
Inside the Police Headquarters, the 19-year-old maintained a aggressive and uncooperative behavior, coming to hitting officers with punches and kicks. Therefore, in addition to the arrest for robbery, he was also reported for resisting a public official, theft and carrying weapons or objects capable of causing offence.
At the disposal of Public Prosecutor on duty, the young man was associated with the Como Prison, where it remains at the disposal of the Judicial Authority.
