Trieste: al Salone degli incanti la mostra dedicata a Steve McCurry "Sguardi sul Mondo"

The exhibition follows a path that has as its central theme the story of humanity and invites the visitor to moments of intimacy in observing Steve McCurry's works: each shot, like a window to distant worlds, takes the visitor on an exciting and complex journey through different cultures, experiences and sensibilities, intentionally mixing different countries and periods in which the images were captured, an incursion into Steve McCurry's universe and his personal experience.

The exhibition opens with a series of portraits of extraordinary intensity and continues with images that range between war and poetry, suffering and joy, amazement and irony, composing a mosaic of emotions that capture the gaze and touch the soul. The collection of portraits, unforgettable for the direct relationship they establish with the observer, sometimes to the point of making it seem as if they are the ones scrutinizing the spectator, exalts the dignity and pride of each one, above the different ethnic groups, latitudes and difficulties of life in which they are caught, to which poetic images dedicated alternate to Buddhism, meditation, temples and spirituality, and more shots that document the condition of innocent civilians in war zones, such as Afghanistan, the Gulf War and September 11. A significant section is dedicated to children, culminating in the relationship between man and environment, often made possible by the contiguity with the animal universe.

The exhibition project is curated by Biba Giacchetti, with the artistic direction of John Mercury, is a Madeinart production.

The exhibition will be open from November 14th to May 4th 2025, with the following opening hours: Tuesday to Friday 10am-18pm, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays 10-19, 25 December closed.
