The eleventh edition of the Biennial of Contemporary Italian Engraving of Campobasso has been presented
Gravina: «This year's edition will be the turning point, with a strong innovative energy that its creator Domenico Fratianni would really like»
The eleventh edition of the Biennial of Contemporary Italian Engraving of Campobasso has been presented.
It was presented on Monday afternoon at the Molise Cultura Foundation Campobasso, the eleventh edition of the Biennial of Contemporary Italian Engraving “Domenico Fratianni”, which will open its doors, with the official inauguration, next Saturday December 17 at Palazzo Gil.
Presenting the details of the event at the press conference, which will last until 26 February 2023, in addition to the leaders of the Cultural Association Domenico Fratianni, Annalisa Fratianni and Gerardo Fratianni, also the president of the Molise Cultura Foundation which promotes the exhibition, Antonella Presutti, the Head of Coordination, Sandro Arco, the president of the Molise Region, Donato Toma, and the mayor of Campobasso, Robert Gravina.
Gravina, in explaining how the Municipality of Campobasso has once again believed in the Biennale project by sponsoring the exhibition and also contributing economically to its realization, underlined how the Campobasso Biennial of Contemporary Italian Engraving, since its first edition in 2000, has never run the risk of remaining immobile.
«In fact, gazing – said Gravina – it was not the favorite profession of the person who created this event more than twenty years ago, namely Maestro Domenico Fratianni. Since the Master left us, it has been up to his children to continue to accompany the journey through time of this event.
The 2022 edition of the Campobasso Contemporary Engraving Biennial, sponsored among others by our Municipality, radiates – declared the mayor of Campobasso – a contemporaneity deliberately out of fashion, but at the same time decisive for that evolution which positively connotes life and not only art and which allows our city too to continue to grow by opening itself up as much as possible to comparison in ever-changing fields different and stimulating, without prejudices of any kind, but with that freedom of thought that art teaches us to have and pass on to the new generations».
The “Domenico Fratianni” Biennial of Contemporary Italian Engraving will be inaugurated on Saturday 17 December, at the Molise Cultura Foundation – Palazzo Gil, and will be open to visitors until 26 February 2023.
