The Venice Art Biennale is coming to a close

Zaia: "An edition that inspires and gives hope to humanity and that transforms Veneto into the beating heart of world culture".

The Venice Art Biennale is coming to a close

“The Venice Art Biennale is coming to a close, confirming its status as one of the most prestigious and significant cultural events in the world. This edition has offered a rich panorama of artistic suggestions from every corner of the planet, demonstrating how art can be the spokesperson for messages of solidarity, sustainability and shared visions for a better future. The dialogue between different cultures and artistic languages has allowed us to build an inclusive image of the contemporary, capable of enhancing global identity without ever losing sight of local specificities. Venice, once again, has proven to be the ideal stage to welcome and promote this creative plurality, confirming the role of the Veneto as the beating heart of international culture, inspiration and hope for all humanity”.

The President of the Veneto Region declared this Luca Zaia a few days before the end of the 60th International Art Exhibition of the Venice Biennale by Title Foreigners Everywhere, which will close its doors Sunday 24 November 2024.

"Since its foundation in 1895, 130 years ago, the Biennale has established itself as a cutting-edge point of reference in the promotion of new emerging trends in contemporary art, becoming an essential crossroads for artists, professionals, academics, critics and enthusiasts. Through it, one of the best images of the Veneto region is spread and promoted on a global level, which, with its cultural tradition and its ability to innovate, confirms its central role in bringing out artistic excellence, including that of the Veneto region", continues Zaia.

“A heartfelt thanks goes to the Venice Biennale, in particular to President Pietrangelo Buttafuoco and to the Director of the Visual Arts sector Adriano Pedrosa, for their commitment in the planning and curation of this extraordinary edition, which promotes contemporary and experimental art as universal values at the basis of our cultural identity. The signing, this year, of the Protocol to promote the ASAC, the Historical Archive of Contemporary Arts, is an example of institutional collaboration between the Biennale and the Region that we are proud of. I also thank all the artists, curators and visitors who contributed to the success of the event. The Biennale remains an international point of reference and a symbol of the creativity and renewal that the Veneto region can offer to the entire world, strengthening the role of culture as a pillar of our social and economic development. Good luck and good work for the success of the next edition”.
