Arezzo, everything is ready in the city for the seventeenth edition of the "Rampichiana".
On Sunday 27 March the protagonists of the Rampichiana return to the saddle, organized by the Cavallino amateur sports association with the patronage of the Municipality of Arezzo and the Arezzo InTour Foundation and the contribution of the latter.
It is the seventeenth edition of the competitive mountain bike cycling race which sees Piazza Grande as the starting and finishing point and then develops entirely within the municipal territory. With a very respectable "mountain grand prix" like Poti.
Sports councilor Federico Scapecchi: “By virtue of the high number of participants, we will have positive economic consequences for the tourism-accommodation sector, demonstrating that sporting events are not characterized only by their competitive value. I thank all the sponsors who made the event possible."
“The Arezzo InTour Foundation – commented the president Simone Chierici – supports the Rampichiana in the certainty that it will contribute to making Arezzo known as an ideal destination also for those who love cycling. We live in a wonderful land that deserves to be presented for the infinite possibilities it offers. Cycle tourism is a universe of ever-growing travelers and similar events shine a spotlight on how fun and stimulating it can be to discover the area by bike."
Again for the foundation, the director Rodolfo Ademollo added that "the dialogue with the Cavallino association is constant and grows from year to year, also because their activity involves the paths of areas that we intend to enhance because they are suitable for cycle tourism, as cited by the 'councillor, and trekking”.
“Confirming the interest aroused among competitors and enthusiasts of the discipline – recalled Alessandro Mazzini, vice president of the ASD – the protagonists on the starting grid are currently 850, with a notable leap compared to the last edition when there were 550. The route however, it remains unchanged because it was highly appreciated. However, we should talk about 'routes': in addition to the classic one of 43 kilometres, there is an average one of around 30 and a third of around 20 for students and beginners, with diluted starting times. With the 'state of emergency' and the regulatory regime imposed by Covid still in force, we have foreseen, with an important organizational effort, every measure necessary for everyone's safety".
Here are the 43 kilometers of the Classic: via Vasari, via dei Pileati, via Bruno Buozzi, via Gamurrini, via di San Fabiano, San Polo, Alpe di Poti after which, upon returning to the city from San Fabiano, via Tarlati and via Padre Caprara will be covered , piazza San Domenico, via Madonna Laura, the Prato park, via dei Palagi, via di Pellicceria, via San Niccolò, piaggia San Bartolomeo and Borgunto
