Falconara Marittima: Threatens to commit suicide by jumping into the void, the Carabinieri manage to save him

Late on the evening of Friday 7 February, in Falconara Marittima, a 30-year-old foreigner was rescued by the Carabinieri of the Radiomobile Section of the Ancona Company and by 118 personnel, as some neighbours had reported that he was threatening to fall from the 6th floor of his home.

The man, who was actually on the roof of the house, immediately appeared to the rescuers to be very agitated and unreasonable, as well as determined to commit the suicidal act. He also refused the presence of the military and paramedics, repeatedly ordering them to move away and leaning out dangerously.

During the frantic phases of the intervention, an operator from the Carabinieri Operations Centre in Ancona managed to get in touch with the man by telephone, starting a relaxing and empathetic conversation that lasted about 50 minutes, during which he managed to gain the attention and trust of the agitated man, bringing him back to calm, gradually making him desist from his intentions and convincing him to trust the Carabinieri and the paramedics present.
