Workplace checks: The Carabinieri of Ancona issue fines for irregularities in construction sites and shops

The Carabinieri of the Ancona Labor Inspectorate Unit haveor carried out a series of specialist checks on manufacturing and construction activities in the area, making use of the collaboration of the Carabinieri Stations of the locations involved, within the scope of the now consolidated operational cooperation strategy desired by the Provincial Command of the Carabinieri of Ancona. The focus of the checks was particularly on compliance with workplace safety regulations, to prevent the root causes of potential accidents, which continue to claim victims today with a worrying incidence also due to the failure to respect the most basic rules (even common sense) on safety.

In Jesi, it was inspected a construction site where several irregularities were found on the installed scaffolding, which specifically did not comply with the technical standards required by law for the prevention of accidental falls into the void. The site managers have been reported in accordance with Legislative Decree 81/2008 regarding the protection of health and safety in the workplace and have been high fines for a total of over 21 thousand euros. In Trecastelli, the military of the Nil and of the local station have instead inspected a textile laboratory within which, following a thorough check, the presence of an electronic fabric spreader without the required safety equipment was found. As a result, fines of over 9 thousand euros were imposed.

The results of the above activities confirm the need to persevere in the control and prevention strategies implemented by the Carabinieri of the specialist and territorial branches., also for invest in training and awareness of the risk of accidents at work which even today, in too many cases, appear underestimated even in the face of the alarming data on injuries and dramatic cases reported daily in the national news.
