Online Scam: 40-Year-Old Arrested in Castelfidardo for Buying Cell Phones with Fake Bank Transfers

The Carabinieri of the Castelfidardo Station have 40 year old arrested and taken to prison of Calabrian origins but domiciled in that municipality, burdened by previous criminal convictions, some of which are specific. The man was in fact hit by an execution order for imprisonment issued by the Attorney General's Office at the Court of Appeal of Ancona, following a conviction for a fraud perpetrated in 2016 against a telephone salesman from Senigallia. In this case, the fraudster had purchased two iPhones online, pretending to have paid the agreed amount via bank transfer, for which he had also produced a cleverly counterfeit payment slip.

He then disappeared after physically withdrawing the smartphones, also declaring himself interested in buying more, paying them this time in cash, to gain the victim's trust. The military of the Castelfidardo force then began searching for the convicted man, who had been missing since last December, finally managing to track him down in that center. The man will now have to serve a 9-month prison sentence in Montacuto.
