Ancona, Welfare Sport: no cuts to resources but more beneficiaries of the project

The funds dedicated to the Welfare Sport project will be increased and will reach 41 thousand euros.

“Previously, this same allocation (2023 funds) had been used by the previous Administration to cover the tender relating to the years 2022-2023, making it unavailable for the 2023-2024 year which instead, at present, is being liquidated thanks to the restoration by the Silvetti Administration – states the vice mayor, councilor for Sport and Budget, Giovanni Zinni – . Furthermore, unlike previous Administrations, we have increased the funds in the initial allocation in the 2024 budget, from 10 to 15 thousand euros.

So in these days we will settle the 2023-2024 tender with an integration of 5000 euros which will be added to the 36 thousand already foreseen and voted for with the 2023 budget adjustment, for a total of 41 thousand euros, which represents a higher sum of 1000 euros compared to the historical allocations of previous Administrations. Finally, for the implementation of the 2024-2025 tender we start from an initial allocation of 10 thousand euros which will be integrated by the changes that are being defined, given that we are only in April of the financial year. Therefore, the statements in the press that support a cut in resources are unfounded, on the contrary the initial allocations in the budget forecast have increased and the existence of the 2023-2024 tender has been guaranteed thanks to our corrective action last summer" concludes Zinni.

The Welfare Sport project provides contributions to families for the sports practice of their children in particular ISEE conditions. The recipients are families residing in the Municipality of Ancona, in which there are one or more children under 18 and whose ISEE is equal to or less than 13 thousand euros.

“We have strengthened the Welfare Sport project for 2023-2024, – continues Giovanni Zinni – which allowed us to increase the funds available, reaching 41 thousand euros and thus allowing more young people to participate. Unfortunately, every year the potential beneficiaries increase but it is clear that the Municipality will not be able to cover all the requests also considering that our budget was approved with 5 million and 500 thousand euros less in current expenditure".

Each annual budget serves to cover the tender that comes out in the year:

• year 2021: covers the 2021/2022 tender released in October 2021 for an amount of 40.000 euros paid in 2022
• year 2022: covers the 2022/2023 tender released in November 2022 for an amount of 40.000 euros paid in 2023

On 29/05/2023 the old administration made an additional determination of 16.780 euros which used resources initially foreseen for the 2023/2024 tender

In 2023, the new administration has allocated a further 36.000 euros to cover the 2023/2024 tender released in November 2023 to be paid in 2024.

An integration determination of 5.000 euros will be made which brings the 2023/2024 tender to 41.000 euros.

Unlike other annuities, the budget forecast starts with an already higher figure (15.000).

The 2024 tender has not yet been released. It usually comes out in October/November.
