The Port Authority and the Fire Brigade intervened on site The fuel heating system of a vessel at berth was identified as the likely source of the emission. The Harbour Master's Office, competent for the territory, has therefore requested the ship's master to adjust the heating system calibration.
Subsequently, both AST and Arpam were involved and took care of carry out the air quality surveys and samplings which are now being investigated. However, After the vessel's fuel heating system was adjusted at berth, the fumes gradually subsided until they completely disappeared within a few hours.
