Ancona: the photographic exhibition “Best Photos from the World” arrives at Viale della Vittoria.

With 'Best photos from the world' citizens and tourists will be able to admire, starting from Sunday 1st December, twenty-eight photographs, from the Doric city and from all over the world; the shots will be distributed on 14 panels, in the central area of ​​Viale della Vittoria.

The initiative is organized by Go World, with the participation of the photographic association 'Mascherone', now in its 40th year, and with the patronage of the Municipality of Ancona.
The seven exhibitions will take place in the same location until September 2025: in particular, during the last tranche (from 1 to 30 September), the most beautiful images from the previous exhibitions will be exhibited.

"We inaugurate this series of seven photographic exhibitions with the exhibition dedicated to Ancona, for which I thank the Mascherone Association - comments Councillor for Tourism Daniele Berardinelli - because we are aware that ours is a city that needs to be discovered and we believe that it is possible to do so also through some shots, exhibited in one of the most frequented areas of the city, so that they can serve as a starting point for citizens and tourists to go and discover or rediscover iconic or hidden places of our capital. Some of these photographs could also be used for tourism promotion".

Titled 'Hidden Ancona, the most hidden places in Ancona', the exhibition that will open on Sunday was created based on the writings of Pier Paolo Pasolini who, on the occasion of his reportage in 1959, had reported on the Doric city: "I love it right away and yet it remains foreign to me. Only the next day, I discover that it has a beach, a clear beach of stones and rocks, under a large staircase".

"We have avoided the risk of making simple postcards - explain from the Mascherone Association - and for this reason we have favoured less inflated, more niche views, such as the Jewish cemetery or the view of the Apennines from a path in Massignano".

The initiative

The 'Best photos from the world' initiative presents a selection of images of some particularly attractive places in the world, photographed by internationally renowned professionals from National Geographic and by local photographers, cwith the aim of creating an exhibition that is not only for a few enthusiasts or professionals, closed in museums or exhibition halls, but an exhibition open and easily accessible to anyone, where even people passing by (citizens, tourists, cruise passengers) can stop, admire and reflect.

The photos

The photos have been chosen so that anyone can grasp not only the beauty of the shot but also and above all the value that the photo expresses: sustainability, conservation, knowledge of different cultures and discovery of unexplored places. Each image will contain a clear message, which will in any case be illustrated by a caption on the values ​​it expresses and on the reason why the photographer chose that particular moment and subject to immortalize.

The focus will be on shots concerning the city of Ancona (in collaboration with “Il Mascherone”) and the Marche region, as well as shots concerning very distant destinations, to present to citizens, tourists and cruise passengers places that are very close but also remote, with the aim of highlighting how everything that happens on the planet concerns everyone.

The calendar of photographic exhibitions

The exhibition, free for visitors, will last ten months to popularize, in the intention of the organizers, “a passion that until now has remained a niche”.

The program is divided into seven different and consecutive exhibitions:

– 16/01/2025 – 28/02/2025: Zoom on Africa
– 01/03/2025 – 15/04/2025: From the Frasassi Caves to the Caves of the World
– 16/04/2025 – 31/05/2025: From the Sibillini to the highest mountains in the world
– 01/06/2025 – 15/07/2025: Ancona and Countryside (Ancona and Conero)
– 16/07/2025 – 31/08/2025: Marche's Highlights
– 01/09/2025 – 30/09/2025: The Best of the World (selection of the most beautiful images
of previous exhibitions).
