Ancona: Extensive checks on the territory, business fined for over 39.000 Euros
The Carabinieri of Ancona they have carried out a vast operation to protect legality in the areas of Piano San Lazzaro and degli Archi. The activities, arranged collecting the requests coming from the inhabitants of the neighborhoods and from the trade associations, have been oriented towards a comprehensive safety concept, that is, also including checks to protect consumers and workers, with the intervention of the specialized military of the NAS (Anti-Adulteration and Health Unit) and the NIL (Labor Inspectorate Unit) of Ancona.
In parallel a substantial amount of work has been carried out territorial control action aimed at combating drug dealing and widespread illegality, deploying 30 soldiers from the Ancona Company and the anti-drug dogs Bob, Kevin and Malinois One in the Pesaro CC Canine Unit, with the aim of inspecting the most hidden areas and carrying out targeted checks on people deemed suspicious.
Particular attention was also paid to the environmental protection, through checks conducted by the Forestry Carabinieri of the Conero and Ancona Nuclei on commercial activities, to check compliance with specific regulations.
The joint action of the components of the force deployed in the device has produced interesting results in terms of prevention and repression. In particular, Nil and NAS have ordered the closure of an ethnic food shop for failure to comply with workplace safety and health and hygiene regulations, imposing fines and administrative sanctions of over 39.000 Euro. A fishmonger was administratively fined for the failure to prepare HACCP and self-control procedures, mandatory for the particular product category, despite not having ascertained serious violations in terms of hygiene.
The Forestry Carabinieri they checked instead three retail outlets that were using shopping bags that did not comply with environmental standards and were made of non-certified plastic material, seizing several thousand of them and imposing significant administrative sanctions.
The inspections and checkpoints set up, during which the following were carried out numerous personal and vehicle searches with canine units allowed the seizure of small quantities of hashish. In one case, inside a flowerbed in the train station parking lot, the drug-sniffing dog Kevin found a package containing 3 grams of hashish, certainly intended for dealing and hidden by unknown persons to escape detection. Of the numerous foreign citizens checked only one, whose residence documents were not in order, was reported to the Judicial Authority.
