The President of the Lombardy Region was summoned to the Prefecture to discuss Differentiated Autonomy
Yesterday she met at Milano the bicameral Commission for Regional Issues, chaired by Senator Francesco Silvestro, with the objective to continue the fact-finding investigations on the Leps (Essential performance levels) following the approval of the law on differentiated autonomy.
At the meeting, summoned to the Prefecture a Milano, the president of the Lombardy Region, Attilio Fontana, spoke.
“Lombardy – the governor highlighted - has been ready for some time on the topic of Autonomy, since the discussions we had over the years with previous governments. I reiterated this when meeting the president of the commission, reconstructing years of discussions with the successive executives, including a series of letters exchanged with Minister Boccia with whom we were discussing the merits of the competences".
A deal, then, started with the governments presided over by those political forces that today line up against Autonomy, on which Lombardy citizens expressed their opinion by voting in the October 2017 referendum.
"We have addressed many of the issues that are still being debated - declared the president of the Lombardy Region - and we have tried to clear the field of all those fake concerns that are fueled by those who intend to use autonomy exclusively for political purposes, to obtain some consensus. Unfortunately they risk causing our country to miss out on a great opportunity to modernize, streamline bureaucracy and above all an opportunity to become even more competitive with the Regions with which we must constantly deal, such as the European regions and the regions of the world".
"We clarified the issue of Lep and Lea (Essential levels of assistance) which are within healthcare, we gave the utmost willingness to be collaborative and I would say that the meeting was very useful".
