Cagliari: New tenders for coastal fishing and aquaculture, 10,5 million euros for sustainability
Cagliari, July 12, 2024 – Calls dedicated to coastal fishing and aquaculture: the total resources made available are 10 million and 500 thousand euros.

Focus on coastal fishing and aquaculture, precious resources for the Island, excellence recognized and to be preserved, economic cornerstones on which the Sardinia Region and the Department of Agriculture and Agro-Pastoral Reform they turn the spotlight on by offering support through specific and innovative tenders aimed at guaranteeing high levels of competitiveness, sustainability and safety.
Impactful actions and financing up to 100% for eligible expenses: an absolute novelty for Italy that finds space for the first time in Sardinia. The goal is therefore to make the sector and productions of the sector increasingly competitive and sustainable, in total safety for the operators"
Four interventions are planned:
- the first action is aimed at increasing the competitiveness of companies Small-scale coastal fishing (PPC) at sea and in inland waters, as well as improving the income conditions of workers;
- the second action focuses attention on the competitiveness and safety of marketing and processing activities of fishery and aquaculture products;
- the third action focuses on investments on board and in ports, functional to increasing the quality of production and improving the conditions for unloading unwanted catches, together with promoting better working, health and safety conditions for operators in the sector;
- finally, the fourth action aims to improve competitiveness and safety conditions in carrying out aquaculture activities.

Calls like those put in place are solid and valuable levers in the context of the protection and valorisation of a leading sector such as coastal fishing and aquaculture. We want the future to be truly sustainable, that production is competitive on national and international markets and that all sector operators work in safe conditions” is the comment of the regional councilor forAgriculture and Agro-Pastoral Reform Gian Franco Satta.
