On Christmas Eve, staff of the State Police belonging to the Flying Squad and Vercelli Railway Police Station has executed an implementing order of the arrest issued by GIP of Vercelli against three individuals seriously suspected of having taken part in a violent assault against a minor on December 9th.

The reason for the violent assault, according to what was accurately reconstructed by the investigators, could be traced back to a previous attack suffered by the youngest son of two of those arrested at the end of November. On that occasion, the boy had been attacked by a group of young people in the square in front of the Vercelli Railway Station. This fact induced the victim's parents, who had also reported the incident, to to premeditate and carry out a personal revenge.

On the morning of December 9, the two adults, together with a friend, waited for one of their son's attackers near the station. After isolating him, they instigated him to take revenge for the attack he had suffered, involving in the punitive expedition also the other minor son. During the assault, they the unfortunate young man was held down, also a minor, and hindered the rescue attempts of some passers-by who were trying to stop the beating.

The violent attack, carried out by several people, also with the use of sticks, caused the victim to femur fractureThe beating was interrupted by the operators of the Vercelli Railway Police Station and Police cars, promptly rushed to the scene.

The subsequent investigative activity allowed the case to be reported at liberty to the Public Prosecutor's Office at the Juvenile Court of Turin even the two young brothers involved.

In underlining the importance of a prompt investigative and judicial response, both due to the gravity of the facts and to contain a possible retaliatory escalation which would have led to a form of Private justice, it is however necessary to point out that the current suspects are, at present, only criminal suspects.

Their position will be definitively examined only after the issuance of a final conviction, in compliance with the constitutional principle of presumption of not guilty.
