Venice: Clashes between fans, 9 access bans issued to sporting events

Following the incidents that occurred during the Venezia – Feralpisalò football match in May 2024 between two groups of Venetian fans, the Venice Police Chief has adopted 9 DASPO measures against as many local ultras.

Due to a previous disagreement over issues related to a banner, two groups of Venetian fans they came into contact near the landing stage of the Biennale Garden, shortly before the start of the football match Venice-Feralpisalò of last month of May.

The clash, during which several bottles were thrown, putting the safety of those present at risk, ended thanks to theintervention of the Police Forces.

The subsequent activity led to the identification of nine fans representing local ultras groups and, on the basis of the elements collected, the Quaestor of Venice, Gaetano Bonaccorso, has ordered against them the ban on access to sporting events (DASPO.).

  • Four of the recipients will no longer be able to access stadiums for a period of between 1 and 3 years.
  • The remaining five subjects, however, who had already been affected by similar measures in the past, in addition to the ban on access to sporting events, were also ordered to report to the Police stations on the occasion of all football matches of the Venezia team, for a period of between 3 and 8 years.
