Venice. Execution of Precautionary Custody in prison against a Tunisian citizen for multiple violations of the measure of the ban on residence in the province of Venice.

During the night of Wednesday 24 April, in execution of a custodial remand order issued by the GIP at the Court of Venice, the Flying Squad of the Venice Police Headquarters tracked down and proceeded with the capture of a foreign citizen of Tunisian origin.

The same, last March, he would have been the protagonist of a serious episode of resistance to a public official during which, following a chase resulting from an attempt to escape from a car inspection, he would have rammed a police car.

In fact, on the night of March 13th, during a territorial control service, a police car had signaled a halt to a BMW which would not have stopped and would instead have continued speeding at very high speed.

The policemen, therefore, began the chase during which the BMW attempted, with extremely dangerous driving, to escape by ramming the steering wheel with a sudden swerve.

However, the driver of the car, precisely because of the ramming, was forced to reverse, a moment that allowed the officers to block the vehicle and arrest the two occupants, one of whom, a Tunisian citizen, was found to be in possession of a hashish-type narcotic substance.

For this reason the policemen, after having gone back to the room of the accommodation facility where he was temporarily staying, they carried out a search which led to the discovery of a gas pistol.

Furthermore, the flying crews took steps to carry out the operation a house search at the apartment of the other occupant of the car, an Italian citizen, following which a precision scale and over 7 g were found. of marijuana-type narcotic substance.

Both subjects were therefore arrested and taken to a direct trial, following which they were ordered to be banned from residing in the Province of Venice.

Some days later, however, there was a further episode of an attempt to escape from a control, this time carried out by the Carabinieri.

Specifically, while an Army crew was preparing to undergo an inspection a parked BMW car with two male occupants inside suddenly set off at high speed, risking hitting a policeman.

As a result of the intervention, the driver managed to escape on foot while the passenger, stopped by police personnel, told the operators the identity of the driver, who turned out to be the same subject arrested only a few days earlier.

Furthermore, A dog was found on board the car and was therefore entrusted to the veterinary service.

A few days later, the Tunisian citizen appeared at the aforementioned service with the intention of recovering his dog, an element from which the Carabinieri therefore acquired further confirmation of the identity of the driver of the car.

Furthermore, the position of the subject, in consideration of the repeated violations of the precautionary measure of the ban on residence in the Province of Venice promptly detected and reported to the Judicial Authority by the Carabinieri, led the Judicial Authority to order theaggravation of the measure and therefore giving rise to the precautionary custody order in prison which was executed.

When accompanying him to the Police Headquarters for the preliminary formal procedures for transfer to prison, the Flying Squad police officers also notified the foreign citizen of a mandatory travel order from the Municipality of Venice for a period of 3 years issued by the Police Chief of Venice, as well as the provision of rejection of the application for renewal of the residence permit issued by the Padua Police Headquarters.

Decisive for the entire activity was the cooperation between the State Police and the Carabinieri who, with perfect synergy and information exchange, by sharing the respective results of the operational activities and in close collaboration with the judicial authority, ensured that it could to obtain the restrictive measure and the subsequent tracing of the subject.
