Venice: Driver taken ill on the A57 rescued and saved

The promptness of the Venice Highway Police officers and the 118 health personnel made it possible to save the life of a motorist who, while on board his car, felt ill and lost consciousness. In particular, the operators of the Venice Highway Police patrol, they noticed a traffic jam at the “Castellana” junction of the A57 Mestre ring road. The officers, thinking that the traffic jam had been caused by a road accident, they went to the head of the traffic jam, where they noticed a car stopped on the roadway with the driver unconscious.

The operators, immediately contacted 118, began to perform cardiac massage on the driver until the arrival of the health workers who continued to perform the appropriate cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers including through the use of the defibrillator. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers allowed the young driver to regain consciousness and then be transported to the nearby hospital for treatment. The intervention of the operators allowed the worst to be averted.
