Venice, renewed the agreement of friendship and collaboration between Veneto and the Ukrainian Region of Odessa

At Palazzo Balbi, seat of the Regional Council of Veneto, the Vice President of the Region, Elisa De Berti, received, on behalf of the President, Luca Zaia, the Vice Governor of the Odessa Region, Sergii Kropyva, accompanied by the Consul General of Ukraine in Milano, Andrii Kartysh.

After the welcome greetings and a brief conversation between the representatives of the two Regions, the Agreement between Veneto and Odessa, signed in 2009, was renewed. Objective: to continue to promote relations of friendship and collaboration between the parties, considering the economic and cultural relations and exchanges that unite their respective territories, to strengthen relations between the two countries and to promote mutual development in the economic, academic, cultural, sports and sustainable growth sectors.

"An agreement that expands the activities of the previous 2009 protocol to implement projects that can bring tangible benefits in strategic sectors for both Regions – said Vice President De Berti – and which reaffirms not only the value of the bond that unites the two countries but also the common will to build a future of dialogue, cooperation and hope between the two communities. We are particularly proud to be able to offer our contribution to a territory that is facing the tragic consequences of a conflict that has been going on for over two years. Today's signature is not only a step towards strengthening our relations, but also a concrete gesture of solidarity and closeness and, we hope, a good omen for the arrival of a period of serenity and reconstruction".
