Venice: foreign citizen arrested for attempted aggravated theft.

After the multiple arrests made in recent days, the activity of the State Police of Venice aimed at combating thefts in commercial establishments continues.

In particular, last night, the Venice State Police arrested a foreign citizen for attempted theft at a clothing store in Piazza Ferretto in the center of Mestre.

Late in the evening, a report was made to 113 by the owner of a shop located in the same square who, during the closing phase, had noticed a man who had attempted to force the entrance door of the clothing store with a tool and who, failing in his attempt, had quickly fled.

Thanks to the description and information provided by the citizen, the Flying Squad of the Venice Police Headquarters, promptly arrived on the scene, immediately cordoned off the area concerned, closing off the escape routes to the suspect, who was thus quickly tracked down and stopped by the police.

Taken to the police station for the usual checks, the subject was arrested for aggravated theft and reported for damage.
