Venice, 42 preventive measures in one month: the Police Chief intensifies action against petty crime and social danger.

Between expulsion orders, urban bans (daspos), warnings, and repatriations, November ended with intense security efforts across the country.

Venice, 42 preventive measures in one month: the Police Chief intensifies action against petty crime and social danger.

In the month of November, the Venice Police Headquarters has intensified its strategies prevention and fight against crime, adopting 42 deterrent measures aimed at ensuring legality and safety throughout the Metropolitan city.

The activity, strongly supported by the Police Commissioner Gaetano Bonaccorso, was made possible thanks to the work of the Anti-Crime Police Division and to support the law enforcement agencies engaged in extraordinary checks on the territory.

Inter-force controls against petty crime

During the month, numerous activities were carried out extraordinary interforce services, which affected various areas of the province, with the aim of countering phenomena of widespread petty crime and identify individuals with high social risk.

These services were supported by the constant activity of the Anti-Crime Division, committed to applying the preventive measures provided for by law.

Among the main measures stand out:

  • 16 Mandatory Street Sheets, issued against people with socially dangerous profiles removed from the municipalities of the metropolitan city of Venice;

  • 8 Oral Notices, with which the Police Chief ordered the recipients to maintain a conduct compliant with the law;

  • 3 Urban DASPOs, which prohibit access to certain urban areas;

  • 2 DASPO Willy, for conduct considered dangerous to public order.

Domestic violence and stalking

Particularly intense is the action taken to protect vulnerable victims.

In November the following were adopted: 11 warnings for domestic violence2 warnings for persecutory acts.

Measures that aim to prevent escalations of violent behavior and protect victims before they are forced to report it.

Repatriations and activities of the Immigration Office

The control activities carried out by the Police Forces also led to the 19 illegal foreign citizens traced, against whom procedures for their removal from the national territory have been initiated.

In detail: 4 people were escorted directly to the border and repatriates, and 15 were conducted at various Repatriation Centres, with the initiation of expulsion procedures.

The average recorded in the month is significant: more than one prevention measure per dayA constant and continuous action that aims to prevent the rooting of antisocial behavior and to protect the safety of citizens.
