La State Police of Venice arrested, during the night between Monday 8th and Tuesday 9th December, a man believed to be responsible for persecutory behaviors against his ex-partner and her daughter. The arrest took place in Mestre, at the end of a targeted surveillance activity started by the Flying Squad officers.
Specifically, the subject would have carried out threatening behaviors Initially addressed to his ex-partner and, subsequently, also to the woman's daughter, whom he held responsible for the end of the relationship. In addition to sending numerous threatening messages to both, the man allegedly targeted the young woman's car, parked under the house, on several occasions: first by throwing some firecrackers, to then get to implement a attempted arson.
Following the victims' complaints, officers from the Venice Police Headquarters' Flying Squad have stepped up surveillance at the two women's homes as a preventative measure.
During the night, the officers surprised the man as he was approaching the victims' house. with the lights off. Suspicious, they stopped him and subjected him to a check, finding him in possession of various tools used to offend.
The man was therefore arrested for the crime of stalking and transferred to prison at the disposal of the Judicial Authority.
