Venice: He physically and psychologically harassed his partner, 30-year-old arrested

The police officers of the Mestre Police Station and the Flying Squad of the Venice Police Headquarters have given execution of an order for the application of precautionary custody in prison, issued by the GIP c/o the Court of Venice, against a thirty-year-old, investigated for the crime of mistreatment and robbery against his wife.

Following an intervention carried out by the Flying Squad of the Venice Police Headquarters for a lite which broke out in the centre of Mestre and was followed by the complaint – complaint by the victim, the investigative team of the local police station carried out several investigations into the couple's romantic and cohabitation relationship, at the end of which it emerged that the partner had committed systematic and repeated acts of physical and psychological violence against the woman.

The investigative reconstruction materialized in the serious evidence of guilt against the accused, which led to the application of the aforementioned order.

Order carried out by the police officers of the Mestre Police Station and the Flying Squad who, following investigative information activities, they managed to track down the suspect, hiding in the home of a third person. At the end of the ritual acts, the man was escorted to prison.

Also, a few days earlier, the police officers of the Mestre Police Station had executed another order of precautionary custody in prison, issued by GIP c/o the Venice Court, against a man also investigated for the crime of mistreatment of his ex-partner in the family.

The man, already the recipient of the precautionary measure of prohibition from approaching the injured party, is said to have repeatedly transgressed the imposed provisions, trying to get closer the woman, so much so that the latter, out of fear, took refuge in the local Carabinieri station.

Following the report from the Mestre Police Station, the Judicial Authority has ordered the aggravation of the current measure with pre-trial detention in prison.

The commitment of the Venice State Police in combating all forms of violence, particularly against women and all vulnerable victims, continues also thanks to the constant activity of the police officers of the Anti-Crime Division of the Police Headquarters.

From January to October 2024, a total of 160 Warnings were issued, of which 113 pursuant to art. 3 Legislative Decree 93/2013 for Domestic Violence and 47 Warnings pursuant to art. 8 Legislative Decree 11/2009 for stalking.
