Saronno: Monti (Lega), “Good investments of over 27 million euros for the Saronno Hospital”
The Lombardy Region confirms its commitment to the protection, safety and strengthening of the Saronno Hospital, with an intervention plan worth over 27 million euros. A significant investment aimed at modernizing infrastructure, increasing care capacity, improving fire safety and equipping the hospital with cutting-edge technologies.
Emanuele Monti, regional councilor of the League and president of the Welfare Commission of the Lombardy Region, declares: “Saronno Hospital is a fundamental garrison for the city and its population. This investment demonstrates our commitment to its defense, strengthening and growth. Thanks to the Lombardy Region, which has been able to use both regional funds and national funds linked to the PNRR, we can guarantee innovative technologies, modern infrastructures and safety for patients and healthcare workers. Special thanks go to the strategic management of the hospital, which guided the implementation of these projects respecting the essential timeframes for obtaining funds, in particular those related to the PNRR. "
Ongoing and planned interventions
Major projects include:
1. Project 2 DL 34/2020 – Red and Brown Pavilions
• Creation of semi-intensive care beds and expansion of the Emergency Department.
• Total amount: €10.496.360 (including purchase of equipment).
• Progress status: work started.
2. Fire safety adjustments
• New fire extinguishing water system, emergency ramp station with medical gas cylinders and other safety works.
• Amount: approximately €1.200.000.
• Progress status: works nearing completion.
3. Green Pavilion – 7th and 8th floor
• Adaptation of the 7th floor for new hospitalisations and of the 8th floor for the creation of operating theatres.
• Amount: €7.470.000.
• Progress status: executive design being delivered.
4. Fire safety upgrades – 1st and 5th floor of the Green Pavilion
• Regional funding for safety measures.
• Amount: approximately €3.448.670.
• Progress status: work in progress.
Other renovation and technological innovation projects
• Green Pavilion: Installation of innovative equipment at Nuclear Medicine thanks to PNRR funds and regional contributions.
• Total amount: €1.200.000 (equipment and works).
• Red Pavilion: New CT scan for advanced diagnostics and instrumentation for the operating block (donations from the Saronno Salute Foundation).
• Total amount: €750.000.
• Brown Pavilion: Renovation of 5 floors, including semi-intensive care and general medicine.
• Amount: approximately €7.000.000.
• Blue Pavilion – Radiotherapy: New linear accelerator and oncological diagnostics.
• Amount: €2.200.000 (equipment and works).
A more modern and safe hospital
“The entire intervention plan represents a fundamental step for the future of the Saronno Hospital. The planned works include the reorganization of spaces, the modernization of infrastructures, the improvement of security and the introduction of new diagnostic and therapeutic technologies.".
