Arezzo, “Stop asbestos”: last year almost 13.000 kilograms collected in Arezzo.

In 2021, via the service “Stop asbestos” sponsored by You are Tuscany, in the municipality of Arezzo there were collected and managed correctly approximately 13.000 kilograms.

“The balance is absolutely positive – comments the environment councilor Marco Sacchetti – with one constant growth in requests. From 2019, the year of activation, to today, more than 160 citizens have used the service, allowing you to dispose of correctly, at low cost, almost 34.000 kilograms of material. For this reason we have decided to confirm the service also for 2022 with the dual objective of increase correct waste management and protect the environment, strengthening the commitment we have always carried out on the separate waste collection front".

Il servizio “Stop asbestos” offers private citizens the opportunity to contribute to the collective well-being and decorum of the city in a simple and economical way, being able to independently remove asbestos present in domestic areas or other types of premises. The citizen who accesses the service is personally involved in disposing of the material, with a self-removal kit provided by Sei Toscana containing all personal protective equipment and suitable packaging materials.
A manual with all instructions for use that citizens must follow promptly.

The video tutorial is also available which explains all the operations to be done in complete safety: https://www.youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&v=nBfWabBBUQc.

Based on the methods previously shared between the municipal administration and Sei Toscana, citizens can do service request by filling out the application drawn up on the appropriate form and sending it via PEC to the address comune.arezzo@postacert.toscana.it or alternatively, by delivering it by hand or by postal service to the protocol in Piazza Amintore Fanfani 1.

Once the request has been received and the technical feasibility of the self-removal operation has been verified in accordance with the guidelines of the Tuscany Region, the Municipality will proceed to verify the correct registration in the TARI rolls and the regularity of the tax payments by the applicants. Sei Toscana will then communicate the delivery methods of the kit necessary for packaging the waste and the collection methods.
