Following a series of investigations, they arrested two people in Naples responsible for a scam that took place on January 2nd to an elderly woman from Trieste, who had received a phone call from a fake lawyer who asked her for money for the release of her son who was under arrest following a road accident he had caused. The woman had handed over to the criminals 80 thousand euros in cash, jewelry and valuables.

In recent days, following a prolonged investigation, were arrested, Napoli, two subjects of Campania origins, authors of a scam perpetrated in Trieste.
The facts date back to January 2nd when an elderly lady, around 90 years old, she received a phone call from a self-styled lawyer asking her for money for the release of her son who was under arrest following a road accident he caused.
The woman, worried about the fate of her relative, he collected what he had at home including cash, jewelery and valuables, reaching the considerable sum of 80.000 euros which he delivered to an emissary of the self-styled lawyer who in the meantime he had reached his home. While he withdrew the sum, an accomplice remained in the street to act as a lookout.
The investigation activity, directed by the Deputy Prosecutor Dr. Baldovin, starts from the viewing of surveillance cameras in the area and the analysis of telephone records and allow the two authors to be identified Moreover, in more recent times, of a similar scam committed in Falconara Marittima.
La next one collaboration with the Carabinieri of Naples allowed them to be fully identified.
