Busy afternoon and moments of fear on February 17th on “Rilke” trail, where one group of Slovenians he was taking a walk taking advantage of the cold but sunny day.
In the late afternoon, around 18.00 pm, a phone call alerted the Carabinieri of the Duino Operations Centre saying that a Slovenian boy, of '99 affected by down syndrome, while he was walking with the group on the said path, had been lost sight of by his guardian.
After trying to find him on their own without success, the group members decided to alert the Carabinieri. Immediately two patrols, one of the Duino Station and the other of Prosecco, and a patrol of the Aurisina Radiomobile Unit, after taking note of the boy's description, they set out in search of him, following the main path and its branches.
There were fears for the boy's condition and for the very low temperatures, especially given the time.
After about an hour the happy ending: the boy was found by the patrol of the Duino Station, scared and cold, in the initial stretch of the path near the United World College.
He was then taken to the barracks and entrusted to his parents.
