President Toti: "We are mending a region with many wounds".

Lerici: the Marinella promenade in San Terenzo reopened.

The promenade surrounding the Marinella bay in San Terenzo di Lerici has been completely reopened.

A reopening made possible after the conclusion of the safety measures on the cliff overlooking the beach and the pedestrian path.

An intervention divided into three lots for a total value of 1,7 million euros, for which the Liguria Region has allocated 1 million and 165 thousand euros allocated through the Regional Strategic Fund, in particular for the second and third lots.

The first batch, however, was built with municipal funds.
In August 2020, once the second batch was concluded, the beach, closed since 2010 following the risk of a landslide, was reopened: with the conclusion of the third and final batch, the beach also becomes accessible, in time for the start of the bathing season. last stretch of the walk.
“An intervention of great value, with an important tourist value, in a beautiful area and, like many other places in Liguria, particularly delicate: this is a safety intervention, such as that which concerns, for example, the Via dell'Amore , which takes place in a very complex region from a hydrogeological point of view, which obviously requires very demanding operations – comments the president of the Liguria Region Giovanni Toti –This is an intervention worth around 1 million 700 thousand euros, largely financed by the Liguria Region, but above all it was a complex job from a design point of view. Making this place usable and returning it to citizens and tourists was a work that involved important work, I thank all the companies that worked here together with the municipal administration of Lerici. Little by little we are mending, as our great architect Renzo Piano claims we should do, a region with many wounds. The Via dell'Amore will reopen next July, and we are working to return further paths to the Cinque Terre for citizens to use. It's a complicated job, sometimes long, but which gives a lot of satisfaction, like today."

“From East to West, the commitment of this administration is constant for the defense of the soil and the safety of citizens. The intervention of his complex, on one of the most beautiful bays in this area, was assessed as strategic by the Liguria Region: we therefore wanted to include it in the programming of the Strategic Fund and finance it with a significant amount – adds the councilor for Soil Defense Giacomo Giampedrone – A delicate intervention on the wall, typical of our territory, in a very valuable area. The three lots saw consolidation interventions on the cliff, with scaling works and the positioning of adhering networks for an important consolidation work. The interventions to regulate surface water are also important, an element that significantly reduces erosion".
“When an administration works on major objectives with courage and determination, the results are visible. Today we are returning a pearl to our already precious territory also thanks to the support of the always close Liguria Region", concludes the mayor of Lerici Leonardo Paoletti.
