The Carabinieri have taken precautionary measures against a 53-year-old and a 49-year-old man, accused of aggravated robbery, kidnapping, and theft. They took €140.

I Carabinieri of the Operational and Radiomobile Unit of the Sarzana Company, with the collaboration of Investigative Unit of the Operational Department of the Provincial Command and Brindisi Company, have carried out aprecautionary custody order in prison issued by GIP of the Court of La Spezia, at the request of Prosecutor's Office, towards two people from Brindisi, a 53-year-old and a 49-year-old, held responsible – in collaboration with each other and with two other people not yet identified – for the crimes of aggravated robbery, kidnapping and aggravated theft.

The measures were carried out on August 26, 2025 in Brindisi and originate from a prolonged investigative activities started following the armed robbery consumed the December 31, 2024 at the 'Post Office in Prati di Vezzano Ligure (SP).
On that occasion, four disguised people they waited for the arrival of the director, they kidnapped her at gunpoint and forced her to open the back door of the office. After having also immobilized a new collaborator, they waited for the timed opening of the safe and cash machine, from which they took possession of approximately 140.000 €The robbers, threatening the two women not to call the police immediately, they disappeared on footAt 8.30 the director raised the alarm at the 112.
Le immediate investigations, conducted through video surveillance of the city and surrounding municipalities, allowed us to ascertain that in the previous days they had been two cars stolen then used for escape.
In the continuation of the investigation, with telephone and environmental interceptions, serious evidence was gathered regarding the involvement of the two arrested, in particular of the 53enne, also held responsible for more car and home thefts in central Italy:

The technique used is unique: a jammer (frequency jammer) for inhibit the closing of the doors, theft of house keys and repositioning them in the car so as not to arouse suspicion. Furthermore, the man used a false document to check in at hotels.
During the house searches they were seized a Rolex of dubious origin, burglary tools, a jammer, and two “clean” vehicles with double bottom to hide stolen goodsThe arrested were taken to the Brindisi Prison, at the disposal of theJudicial Authority of La Spezia.
