La Spezia, new gym serving the “G. Sports Hall”. Mariotti".
The project for the construction of a gym dedicated to artistic gymnastics has been presented and has obtained funding from the Pnrr and, in the coming weeks, the municipal administration will issue the tender for the construction of the sports infrastructure. The Mayor of La Spezia Pierluigi Peracchini and the councilor for public works Pietro Antonio Cimino presented the project this morning at Palazzo Civico.
Investments amounting to €5.349.886,38 are planned for its construction: it will be usable both for training and for the organization of competitions and will serve the sports hall. The design, based on the indications provided by the municipal administration, was developed by a professional studio established by the architect. Flippo Franchetti Rosada (group leader – representative), eng. Leonardo Catarzi, arch. Luca Peghini, engineer Federica Landi (young professional).
The area subject to intervention is located in the immediate vicinity of the G. Mariotti building between Via della Pianta and Via Federici.
In this portion, therefore, a new, eco-friendly, cutting-edge and modern structure will be born which will become, as mentioned, not only a point of reference for local athletes, but will be able to host local and regional level competitions , will comply with current CONI regulations and all energy saving requirements. Internal spaces are divided as follows: two changing rooms for referees and an area for spectators, equipped with suitable toilets and separate entrance paths. Furthermore, stands will be built with a capacity of approximately 198 spectators.
The mayor of La Spezia Pierluigi Peracchini declares: “We want a city that is increasingly sport-friendly, which is why today we present a new infrastructure where athletes can train and participate in high-level competitions, but which also remains available to non-competitors. This project, which will soon go out to tender, is one of the many that we are carrying out thanks to Pnrr funds: we are happy to be able to build a new zero-emission and cutting-edge gym, but we are committed on multiple fronts to build new safe and eco-sustainable".
The parterre area, between the area intended for sporting activities and that for hosting spectators, will be distinct. The dimensions of the area for the athletes are 24 x 39 m, including the perimeter areas with a width of 1,50 m, for a total surface area of 936 m43. The expected audience is 50 gymnasts (XNUMX if we also consider the referees).
The facility will be equipped with 4 changing rooms for athletes, all accessible independently from the outside via hallways, and another two for match directors. Furthermore, the rest areas serving the facility intended for athletes have been distinguished from those for spectators.
The project, in addition to the construction of the new structure, has the aim of reorganizing the area adjacent to that of the Palasport, which is currently occupied by filling land and is part of the local context characterized by the presence of other sports facilities such as the Palasport “Mariotti” and the soon-to-be-built swimming pool.
Access can take place from two directions: the main entrance, with short ramps compliant with regulations for disabled people, will be the one provided by the adjacent Via Federici, the secondary one is located in the existing area from Via della Pianta.
