From July 10th to August 22nd, Piazza Europa and Piazza Mentana hosted big names in entertainment: evenings of culture, emotions and a special return with Giancarlo Giannini

La Spezia Summer Festival: Over 4000 spectators for the theater under the stars.

Il La Spezia Estate Festival summer theater festival he turned on Europa Square and Mentana Square culture, entertainment and emotions: from 10 July to 22 August the review attracted around 4000 spectators.

The mayor of La Spezia Pierluigi Peracchini declares: “The La Spezia Estate Festival summer theatre festival confirms itself as an event of great cultural value, a point of reference for the city's summer and capable of involving a diverse audience thanks to a programme full of big names. […] A particularly significant moment was the return home of Giancarlo Giannini, an international actor originally from La Spezia, who after many years has chosen to return to his hometown to tread the stage of the festival”.

Promoted by Municipality of La Spezia and ETS Concert Society, with the patronage and contribution of Liguria region, the support of Carispezia Foundation e AdSP – Port System Authority of the Eastern Ligurian Sea, Main sponsor Iren SPA, sponsors MBDA e BVLG – Versilia Lunigiana and Garfagnana Bank, the festival proposed a varied and quality programme, capable of involving a passionate audience.

They took turns on stage prominent names of the Italian theatre, music and comedy scene:

  • Dario Ballantini, who opened the event with his transformation,

  • the historical face of Zelig Federico Basso,

  • the couple Corrado Nuzzo and Maria Di Biase,

  • the philosopher Matteo Saudino,

  • the refined irony of Henry Bertolino,

  • the energy of the Kataklo,

  • the author's theatre of Andrew Pennacchi,

  • the unmistakable voice of Luca Ward,

  • the marine poetry of Edoardo Prati.

A succession of evenings that have been able to unite entertainment and reflection, lightness and depth, always with a strong connection with the public.

The festival closed with an event of great symbolic value: the Giancarlo Giannini's return to his hometown, who enchanted the spectators with a poetry and music show, accompanied by exceptional musicians.

 The show was cancelled, however. “Here Come the Therefore” by Alessandro Bergonzoni due to the artist's health problems.
