Sassari: illicit use of invalid permits, 474 fines.

Zero tolerance for rude, uncivilized, arrogant, delinquent people.

The local police continue to fight against those who behave in a way that harms the community.

In particular, the Via Carlo Felice Command has further intensified controls on the use of parking spaces reserved for disabled people and on the related permits.

This led in just over eight months to 474 sanctions.

If the trend were to remain this way until the end of the year, it would be a serious figure, a sharp increase compared to 2023, when the violations detected were 601 in total.
The latest case is from a few days ago. Local police officers checked the permit of a car parked in a reserved space and it emerged that the document had expired in 2019 and the owner had died in 2017.

The car was immediately towed away and the owner was given a fine. between the 168 and the 672 euro, in addition to the deduction of four points from the license.

The badge was withdrawn and destroyed.
The activities of the staff of the Via Carlo Felice Command concern the entire municipal territory, and with the beginning of lessons they will be intensified around the schools, during the hours of entry and exit of the students.

In the past, it has emerged that many parents park in reserved spaces even though they are not entitled to do so. Often, the reports have come from people who have reported the situation to the local police, rarely from parents of children with disabilities who were entitled to use the parking space.

The officers intervened and in one case they even towed away the cars parked in the space.
What happens in front of schools every day, also giving a bad example to the new generations, is just one example of what the local police have found over time.
To date, fines issued for parking on pedestrian crossings there were 875, compared to 1099 in 2023; 1331 against those who park on the sidewalk while in 2024 there were 1590.
These behaviors seriously harm the community and those who have a real right to use the reserved parking spaces.

The Highway Code was modified in 2021 with the tightening of penalties which can now reach almost 700 euros plus the deduction of four points from the license.
The local police are also carrying out the “Safe pedestrians” campaign, against those who park cars and motorcycles in spaces intended for blind people, pedestrians, wheelchair users or those with strollers.
