Sassari, another 4 “Zone 30” in the city: the aim is to encourage the circulation of cyclists and pedestrians.
Work has started in recent days on another 4 "Zone 30", as part of the “Sustainable Mobility of Sassari Moss” project, planned for some time and financedi with ministerial funds. The aim is to promote the circulation of pedestrians and cyclists through interventions to slow down the speed of cars.
The interventions concern the areas delimitede from the streets Brigata Sassari, via Politeama, viale Umberto, via Bellieni, via Roma, via Asproni and cbear Queen Margherita of Savoy (compartment A); from Asproni Street, Roma Street, Duca degli Abruzzi Street and Dante Street (sector B); from via Amendola, viale Italia, via De Nicola and viale St. Peter (compartment C); and finally the fourth, il sector D, delimited by the streets Catalocchino, Viale Dante, Via Duca degli Abruzzi and Via Napoli.
The project includes interventions to enhance safety by slowing down traffic. Nthe streets affected by the entrances, will be created a narrowing of the road with colored resin coatings on the sides and will be inserted a “Berlin pillow”: un speed deterrent, like those already donei in other parts of the city.
In recent days, the Mobility Infrastructure Sector is also providing for a better organization of parking in via Marseille, as requested by the neighborhood committee, by remodeling the existing parking spaces that will be traced in line alongside the sidewalk. The previous oblique arrangement, due to the reduced width of the roadway, was in fact creating problems for vehicular traffic, even risking preventing the passage of emergency vehicles, as well as for pedestrian traffic due to the invasion of cars on the sidewalk.
