Cagliari: “Digitalmentis” Project, 105.546 Euros Allocated to the Sardinia Region
The Sardinia Region adheres to the “digitalmentis” project, for the development of digital skills of adult consumers and vulnerable subjects, of the Ministry of Business and Made in Italy. As a contribution quota, 105.546 euros were recognized to Sardinia. Furthermore, in the new ministerial “call for tenders”, an additional 365.800 euros are assigned to the Region, to finance the network of counters open to consumers in the regional territory. The project is in line with the digital education policies implemented by the State for overcome the digital divide and make the relationship between citizens and public administration easier. Called “digitalmentis” it is aimed at the Regions.
“Even at European level – he underlined the Councillor for Tourism and Commerce, Franco Cuccureddu – the new agenda indicates the digital transition as one of the areas of challenge for consumers, and in particular the elderly and frail. To address it, guidelines have been developed, so that all citizens can exercise their rights with awareness, even in the digital sphere. At national level, the strategy for digital skills has been approved, which aims to eliminate the gap with other European countries and within the island territory, setting specific objectives to be achieved by 2026, in terms of increasing digital skills in general and reducing the gender gap."
The Tourism Department's Business Planning Service has been given the task of preparing, after consulting the consumer and user associations registered in the national register, all the activities necessary for the selection of the implementing bodies of the regional consumer protection projects financed by the Ministry. These must be constituted in ATS, temporary associations of purpose that must have an operational headquarters in the regional territory with one or more branches.
