Art on display in the shopping streets of Cagliari

Art and commerce together in the shopping streets of Cagliari. The Strada fare… “vivi La Bellezza” project falls perfectly within the scope of the projects supported by the Municipality's Department of Productive Activities and Tourism to enhance the city's excellence.

The idea is to decorate for 18 days, from 16 November until 5 December, 33 shop windows in Via Manno, Via Garibaldi and the surrounding area, with 90 works which for 6 months involved around eighty students and teachers of the fourth and fifth classes of the LAC – Artistic High School Cagliari.

Councilor Alessandro Sorgia: “It will be a real attraction for citizens and tourists,” commented the representative of the Truzzu Executive responsible for Productive Activities and Tourism. “In a period in which, all together, we are reacting to Covid-19, “vivi la Bellezza” achieves the dual objective of spreading culture and also transmitting a positive message in promoting local activities”. Finally, thanks to the traders, teachers and children of the LAC because "they will contribute to creating the Christmas atmosphere of this 2021".

“The students' works – explained Nicoletta Rossi, LAC manager – refer to myths, but linked to beauty and the urban context”.

Sponsored by the Municipality of Cagliari and organized in collaboration with the Ilbono natural shopping centre, the event organized by the Strada Fare… Association, traders on the streets of Manno and Garibaldi, represents something new for the city. “The guys really did an excellent job – remarked the president Stefano Rolla – in a context of important collaboration”.

At the meeting with journalists this morning on Wednesday 17 November 2021 in via Garibaldi, there was also a large representation of LAC students and teachers.
