Sardinia protagonist at the Belgrade Tourism Fair: between tourism and opportunities, the new direct flight was also presented Belgrade-Alghero

Sardinia shines at the 46th Belgrade Tourism Fair, the only Italian region to be a protagonist of the event. In the presence of Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, The Island opens up to new markets with the launch of the direct flight Belgrade-Alghero, strengthening tourism and economic opportunities in the Balkans.

 

Sardinia is a major protagonist in Belgrade. In the presence of the President of the Republic, Aleksandar Vucic and the Minister of Tourism and Youth, Hussein Memic, the 46th has opened^a Belgrade Tourism Fair, where the main tourist attractions of our country were presented, with a special focus on Sardinia, which was the only Italian region invited: “Destination Italy: from Sardinia to roots tourism, places to discover.” After the intervention of theItalian Ambassador to Serbia, Luca Gori, Tourism Councilor, Franco Cuccureddu, wanted to underline the great importance and great opportunities for the Island to open new markets.

"For the first time – said Cuccureddu – Sardinia participates in the tourism fair in Belgrade and we do so as protagonists, in collaboration with Enit and the Italian embassy in Serbia. Italy and Sardinia are in fact the guests of honor of the event. President Vucic wanted to visit our stand and in the official inauguration speech he mentioned our Island several times and this aroused strong interest from the specialized press and operators."

"Serbia“, Cuccureddu further underlined, “It is a country in great economic growth and the opening of the new direct connection between Belgrade and Alghero, operated by the national airline Air Serbia (with which we will carry out marketing initiatives to support the destination) represents a great opportunity for Sardinia to conquer a new European market in which we were not present.".

 

"The opening of a new air link is always great news, especially if, as in the case of Alghero-Belgrade that will be inaugurated by Air Serbia, it has the merit of opening unexplored markets and adding new passenger flows. The connection is of undoubted tourist interest because it creates a direct connection with a new area of ​​Eastern Europe, whose interest in Sardinia has been growing in recent years, but it is also a new transport opportunity for all Sardinians who have ties or cultivate economic interests in the Balkan countries. To ensure that this and other initiatives do not constitute sporadic and isolated cases, the “New Routes” call for proposals will be published in the coming weeks, which we have prepared together with the Department of Tourism to implement connections with the rest of the world and encourage airlines to invest in our airports and our territories. It is an ambitious challenge, but this is perhaps the best time to take it up.".
