Sardinia at the first edition of the General States of Civil Protection in Rome
With the slogan “Anticipate changes, strengthen responses” they opened yesterday at Rome, General States of Civil Protection 2025, 3 days of discussions between institutions, scientific community, components and operational structures to discuss together the future of the National Service, in which the Councillor for Environmental Protection also takes part Rosanna Laconi and the General Director of the regional civil protection Mauro Merella.
"Participating in the General States of Civil Protection allows me once again to recognize the excellence of the National and regional System. The ability of Civil Protection to face the new challenges that await us is closely linked to the ability to create a system, the comparison of these days between institutions and operators in the sector goes in this direction".
In parallel to the plenary sessions, opened by the Minister for Civil Protection and Maritime Policies and the Head of the Department, two committees will be set up 6 Thematic Tables to delve deeper into some key topics civil protection such as: regulations, prevention, volunteering, emergencies, territory, technologies.
In the afternoon some representatives of the Government, representatives of the Local societiesand European Commission and Structures and Operational Components of the National Civil Protection Service.
On the second day of work, the General Director Mauro Merella he spoke at the thematic table dedicated to the Territory entitled “The National Civil Protection Service: subsidiarity, proximity and inter-institutional coordination”.
Il Working table aims to provide ideas to make sure that the National Service of Civil Protection become an increasingly virtuous model, and in this regard the Director General illustrated the experience in defining the geography and governance of the Territorial Areas of Civil Protection in the Sardinia Region, with the aim of engaging with other regions, prefects, mayors, Anci, volunteers and other stakeholders.
A very ambitious work aimed at rationalization of territorial resources and Improving emergency response capacity, seen with great enthusiasm by the National Department, and which could become a pilot project for all other regions of Italy.
