Sardinia: Over €74 million for healthcare construction and technological modernization of hospital and community facilities

The Regional Council approved the three-year program for 2025–2027 to upgrade hospitals and healthcare facilities across the island. Councilor Bartolazzi stated: "Widespread investments will improve the quality, safety, and innovation of the healthcare system."

Sardinia, over €74 million for healthcare construction and the technological modernization of hospital and community facilities.

La Regional Council of Sardinia approved the three-year program 2025–2027 for the 'healthcare construction and technological modernization of the structures of the regional health system, including ARES e AREUS, having a total endowment of 74.765.000 euros.

The resources, coming from the regional budget and by 'State-Region Agreement of 2019, are intended for interventions of renovation, compliance, energy efficiency and technological enhancement of hospital and territorial structures.

The goal is strengthen the health network and guarantee more modern, safe and homogeneous services throughout the island, in accordance with the programmes of the Development and Cohesion Fund 2021–2027, from the PNRR and of community and national funds.

THERegional Department of Health, Led by Armando Bartolazzi, defined the distribution of funds on the basis of priorities indicated by the Health Authorities, evaluating the urgency of the interventions, the population served, the progress of the works and the consistency with health planning.

“With this three-year plan of widespread investments – declares the councilor Bartolazzi - We intervene concretely to improve the quality and safety of healthcare facilities and to renew the technological equipment, in line with the most advanced standards. It is a tangible sign of the Region's desire to build a more efficient, equitable and local healthcare system. to citizens, from the large hospital to the smallest local health facility."

Among the main planned interventions:

  • ASL 1 Sassari: beyond 11,8 million euro for the safety and renovation of the “A. Segni” Hospital in Ozieri, the completion of the Thiesi Health Center and the redevelopment of territorial structures in the Sassari area. Interventions are also planned for the modernization of the operating block of the Alghero Hospital and the purchase of new biomedical technologies.

  • ASL 2 Gallura: about 2,8 million euro for the new one iperbaric room of the “Giovanni Paolo II” Hospital in Olbia and external renovation works.

  • ASL 3 Nuoro: 4 million euro for fire safety compliance and the renovation of the “San Francesco” hospital, with additional resources for Macomer and new medical equipment.

  • ASL 4 Ogliastra: 1,2 million euro for the expansion of the Tortolì outpatient clinic and the technological adaptation of the Lanusei Presidium.

  • ASL 5 Oristano: 5,8 million euro for the maintenance of the “Mastino” Presidio of Bosa, the modernization of the Oristano Outpatient Clinic and the realization of the new City Hospice.

  • ASL 6 Medio Campidano: beyond 3 million euro for the redevelopment of the Sanluri Outpatient Clinic and the Serramanna psychiatric facility.

  • ASL 7 Sulcis: 2,8 million euro for new dialysis department at the CTO in Iglesias and for works at the PO “Sirai” in Carbonia.

  • ASL 8 Cagliari: 14 million euro for the fire prevention adaptation of the main facilities (SS. Trinità, Binaghi, Marino, San Giuseppe and San Marcellino) and the Renovation of the Health Citadel of Cagliari, More 2,5 million for technological renewal.

  • AOU Cagliari: 6,8 million euro for a new one robotic operating room at the Duilio Casula Polyclinic and for the purchase of advanced biomedical technologies.

  • AUG Sassari: 8,1 million euro for the renovation of the Intensive Care and Cardiac Anesthesia of the PO SS. Annunziata and the purchase of new machinery.

  • ARNAS G. Brotzu: 3,7 million euro for technological renovation of operating rooms and new ultrasound machines.

  • AREUS: 500.000 € for strengthening of regional air rescue.

  • ARES: 600.000 € for interventions of energy efficiency on administrative buildings.

The sums will be paid out based on the approved timetables and with the supervision of the Department of Health.

Le savings resulting from auction discounts will remain available to companies for the completion of the works.
