New Year's Eve in Sardinia: 18 major events, 200 people expected, and an investment of over €3 million.
Sardinia relaunches its role in the national scene of the great end-of-year celebrations and is a candidate to become the region with the highest number of New Year's Eve events in Italy.
The program was presented by the regional councilor for tourism Franco Cuccureddu, illustrating a project that combines live music, involved squares throughout the island and a national communications plan.
"There are 18 events and 18 squares involved – declared Cuccureddu – six with security plans for more than ten thousand people and twelve with a capacity of over three thousand.
If the weather is favorable, the overall attendance could be exceed 200 thousand people".
An impact that is also destined to translate into economic returns. The regional investment, equal to over 3 million euros, could be recovered "already with nine tenths of the VAT”, explained the councilor, estimating a direct impact of at least 20 million euros.

A massive promotional campaign is planned to support the program: TV spots on Mediaset networks, 80 admissions to Italian cinemas, digital marketing and targeted promotion in the main cities connected to Sardinia via 14 winter flights which will see an increase in frequencies during the Christmas period.
