Terms: they try to scam an elderly couple by posing as policemen.
The State Police arrests two men, of Romanian origin, as they are seriously suspected of the crime of possession of counterfeit distinctive signs.
The agents of the State Police of the Viminale Commissariat, following a thorough investigation, after having viewed the images of the video surveillance system located at the entrance of a building in via Principe Amedeo, ascertained that two subjects had robbed a tourist after showing him the wallet, pretending to be members of the police.
The officers, during a specific service, while walking along Via Principe Amedeo, saw the same two men and followed them.
While they were heading towards the “Roma Termini” station they found that the two, on several occasions, were talking under false pretenses with some passers-by, probably to obtain information.
Shortly afterwards, in via Volturno, the two spotted an elderly married couple and immediately followed them, bringing them closer to Piazza della Repubblica, where they conversed for a few minutes and, after a while, one of them took out his wallet as if wanted to show off the badge. The investigators, having already seen the same "modus operandi", immediately intervened, blocking them and finding them in possession of two distinctive badges with the writing "Guardia Urbana Barcellona".
The police subsequently accompanied the subjects to the police station offices, identified them as two Romanians, aged 52 and 63, and arrested them because they were seriously suspected of the crime of possession of counterfeit distinctive signs.
The Judicial Authority, at the request of the Public Prosecutor's Office, validated the arrests.
