Rome, after 17 years the process for the Paralympic training center has been unblocked.

The Italian Paralympic Committee, which has the concession for the municipal facility, will be able to proceed with the new design of the interventions that have been awaited for years.

“After more than 17 years we have managed to unlock the process to allow the Italian Paralympic Committee to complete the sports center of via delle Tre Fontane, a structure of absolute excellence owned by Roma Capitale, where the athletes who represent Italy at the Paralympics train every day. Thanks to the sensitivity of Eur spa, starting with the president Enrico Gasbarra and the managing director Claudio Carserà, we have also worked for a long time with the Cip and the president Luca Pancalli to start the administrative process that will lead to the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Municipality, Eur spa and Cip. So as approve the project for the multidisciplinary sports hall covered and guesthouse. These works – independent of the situation of the former Velodrome – will be carried out by the Paralympic Committee and have been awaited since 2007: they are necessary for the Cip to complete the project of the sports center as it was conceived from day one and to provide an important boost to the promotional activity of the entire sector. Two years ago we unblocked the works in the stadium where the AS Roma women's team plays, in the so-called Esedra Destra del Tre Fontane, now with this significant step forward towards the modernization of the Esedra Sinistra we have laid the foundations to enhance the entire quadrant".
