The operation “HIGH IMPACT” was particularly important: the checks aimed at increasing the level of security involved the joint use of personnel from the Rome Police Headquarters and the Railway Police in the internal and external area of the Roma Termini station. Dangerous and troublesome individuals were tracked down, non-EU citizens and individuals involved in drug dealing were identified, areas of interest to users were cleared, and public commercial establishments were checked: the activity led to the identification of 494 people, 3 reported, and dozens of bags checked by the Railway Police, for a total of 30 patrols employed in the station.
253 people identified, this is the result of the activity of the Railway Police for Lazio in the context of the strengthened services of an “extraordinary” control, on board railway convoys on the Rome Termini – Chiusi (SI) route and vice versa, promoted by the Railway Police Service, within the scope of the “HIGH IMPACT” operation.
The service provided is aimed at the prevention and repression of crimes committed on board the train as well as the careful control of users of the railway service and their luggage.
The personnel of the Roma Termini Station Department, during the services aimed at repressing crimes, arrested a person for the crime of improper robbery. The officers, on the orders of the Compartmental Operations Center, intervened at a commercial establishment located inside the Roma Termini railway station, as a security guard of the aforementioned commercial establishment had stopped a person who, a few moments before, had stolen, placing it in his right pocket, a wallet belonging to a traveler busy talking with other people sitting at a table.
The action was noticed by the security guard who stopped the offender who, seeing himself discovered, tried to attack him in order to escape, but was stopped by the officers who intervened on the spot.
