Rome, the new AW139 helicopters arrive at the Flight Departments of the State Police
The two AW139 helicopters have been delivered to the Bologna and Naples Flight Departments.
In their configuration, these two aircraft include an infrared camera, a system for transmitting images to the ground and are equipped with the most important technologies in terms of observation from above.
The AW139s, cutting-edge models from both an aeronautical and technological point of view, are multi-role helicopters capable of operating in different operational contexts and of fulfilling all the missions that the air component of the State Police is called upon to carry out, guaranteeing the effectiveness and versatility necessary for all the operational needs of the State Police.
The State Police Flight Departments carry out many operational activities, guaranteeing support for judicial police activities, public order activities during major events and the safety of public places such as roads, highways, airports, railway junctions, stadiums and major communication routes through monitoring from above.
The two recent deliveries fuel the path to complete the single line that will operate with the crews of the State Police, with the aim of reaching the number of 15 AW139 units throughout the national territory.
